Palisade State Park

For the 4th of July this year we took the kids to Palisade State Park, just South of Manti. The kids had a blast. And it wasn't too bad for the parents. Let's face it. Camping was much more fun as a kid, when your parents did all the work and you had all of the fun. Luke took his blanket everywhere we went. It was a nice shade of gray by the time we came home.

The girls had fun playing at the beach, going to the playground across from our campsite, playing with sticks and playing with pipe cleaners that we brought from home. We also took them to get icecream and watched the fireworks from the hill next to the Manti temple. As I sat next to the temple and watched the fireworks to celebrate our freedom, I was really greatful that we live in such an amazing place.

And we also rented this fabulous gold paddle boat. Luke SCREAMED when we put him on. He hated his life jacket. He finally got used to it and sat for a while while we paddled around. Aly was the best little paddler and Marlie loved jumping off the boat in the middle of the lake. They were so excited that they actually got to see fish jump out of the water.
